Robin Hapelt
With roots in Germany and Switzerland, he lives and works primarily in Southeast Asia, where he has developed a deep connection with local materials and traditional craftsmanship. His design philosophy is grounded in sustainability, creating products in harmony with nature based on the “cradle to cradle” principle, using materials that neither exploit the Earth’s resources nor contribute to pollution.
In Volume I of SKLD Studio, he presents Lenis, a collection that redefines the conventional use of teak and rope, infusing familiar styles with a fresh identity. Inspired by the shape of a water droplet, the design balances soft curves with sharp lines, reducing teak usage while introducing an ethnic touch that gives the collection its bold character. The result is a contemporary series with a strong, unique personality.
